American Food Rebel Network exists to encourage individuals to subvert the industrial food system and to reject popular nutritional dogma and instead cultivate a mindful system of self inquiry and learn to rely on their own direct experience to determine what is right for them. In my experience there is an incredible amount of unnecessary suffering and confusion related to what and how we eat and not just for human beings but also non-human beings. Combining simple whole foods nutrition theory, mindfulness practice and principles of Buddhist Dharma, I help people establish a simple model for health supportive eating and come into a wiser relationship with food. My intention is to relieve as much confusion and suffering as possible and bring about more balance and happiness.

Individual diet and lifestyle counseling Programs for 2008
(all programs available in person and over the phone)

Personal Revolution Program: My main program.This is an ongoing, committed one on one counseling program around food and lifestyle centralizing mindfulness practice. I work in an ongoing program because It takes our entire lives to develop our current relationship to food. Change takes time. In this program we spend the first couple sessions telling your story and setting intentions. We meet every two weeks, each session building on the last. If you are interested in investigating and transforming your relationship with what you consume in a lasting way...this is the program! Initial consultation is free.

7 To 10 Day Renunciation, Mindfulness And Detox Program: This is an individualized program based on the Buddhist practice of renunciation. We sometimes unknowingly use food to escape from uncomfortable conditions. Often, habits form around this behavior. When we do a renunciation practice we remove the crutches (addictions, habits, comfort foods) and as a result, we are left only with the conditions. At that point we have the opportunity to sit down right in the middle of the circumstances that drive behavior and investigate them. The wisdom gained in this practice is sometimes the missing link between what we know we "should" do and our usual contrary behavior. Together we'll choose the level of renunciation that is right for you. I provide you with several mindfulness techniques to use to investigate your relationship with food and support you throughout. The program lasts 7 to 10 days depending on your individual experience. This is a killer way to come into a wiser relationship with food and find out a lot about yourself. Very powerful!

Pablo Das is a mindfulness based diet & lifestyle counselor and teacher. He works with Individuals and groups all over the country centralizing Buddhist mindfulness practice in his work. He is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (nyc) and has training in food therapy from Annemarie Colbin at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Culinary Arts and Theory in New York City. Pablo is currently being trained by Noah Levine (author, Dharma Punx) to teach Buddhism at the Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society in Los Angeles. He is also nationally distributed indie/folk-punk/antifolk musician in New York City.
